Southern Germany
My travels to Europe began with a conducted tour, Astrid Baur's Bavarian Castles Tour: King Ludwig's Castles and the
Bavarian Lakes. Great start. The castles (Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Herrenchiemsee, Hohenschwangau, and Nymphenburg) were all
impressive, but no more so than the Bavarian lakes, foothills, and mountains.
This section presents photos of the castles, the Bavarian countryside, pretty towns like Oberammergau and Bad Tölz, the Church in the Meadow and Andechs Monastery, Munich, Lindau and Mainau in Lake Constance, and Mount Zugspitze.

Route Map
Home base for these Bavarian explorations was at Hopfen am See, just north of Füssen and the Austrian border. Daily excursions radiated out from there.
A package of printable Germany Maps is available if you wish paper copies to follow along.
