  Photos from a two-week trip all around Switzerland.  Switzerland has incredible variety – lakes, mountains, rolling farm land, picturesque villages, and big cities.  I was fortunate that the weather was near-perfect.

This trip was a thorough exploration of Switzerland, a clockwise tour east > south > west > centre > north, and is presented in two parts.  First down the east side on the Bernina Express to St. Moritz, then across to Lugano, up to Andermatt, and across to Zermatt on the Glacier Express.  Part 2 visits Geneva, Bern, the Alps in central Switzerland, Lucerne, and Zurich.

(I had a chance to be back in Switzerland a second time and took the opportunity to explore a bit more in central Switzerland, in the Bernese Oberland around Interlaken.  There's a separate Switzerland Vacation page and file.)

Route Map

I used my Swiss Rail Pass to travel clockwise around Switzerland.  I was coming from Germany by train, and took the Bernina Express route to St. Moritz and on to Lugano.  The trip to Zermatt included part of the famous Glacier Express route. From Geneva and Bern it was on to Lauterbrunnen for more mountain adventures.
